Alex Gregg liked nothing better than to live in the quiet of his antique business and the tranquil county side. Threatened and endangered Alex pursues with the tenacity of a pit bull so long as there is time for a good meal and a glass of wine. The same skills he used in the antique world, intuition and deduction would keep him on track, but at his own peril. He knew how and why, but did he know who? How could he have imagined a simple rhyme about a cat would hold the answer, but would justice be served?

I teach a special topics college English course on mysteries, so I'm always on the "look out" for good stories, especially from contemporary writers. And I have to say that I was not disappointed to come across MURDER INSPIRED. A friend loaned me a copy of this book, and in all honesty, I usually don't expect much when previewing a new writer, but this really impressed me. First, the characters are "rounded" and memorable. There are some very interesting plot twists (one in particular that I've never seen before, and I've read countless numbers of mysteries), and the overall plot is well developed and believable. Actually, I'm going to write to H. H. Damato and ask if he's writing another mystery. And I've ordered a copy for my collection. Very enjoyable read.Product details

A great Suspense-filled mystery! I could not put this book down! As a fan of good murder mysteries; I found this book excellent!
Fantastic mystery. Well developed characters and plot line with imaginative detail that places the reader in the midst of the action. Highly recommend!
Murder Inspired is an inspired mystery. It is reminiscent of the classic style that has kept millions of us racing to the denouement in an effort to see if our suspect is indeed the murderer. The characters, setting and plot are all extremely well developed and there is enough action to keep the pace moving. There are twists that turn in complete harmony with the steady emergence of a new sleuth whose deductive prowess is the equal of the great detectives.
An entertaining murder mystery that kept me guessing all the way >>> wonderfully crafted story ! There just has to be a sequel !
I ENJOYED most of the book, but felt it was too much like a copy of an old English murder mystery. Agatha Christie in NJ.
Also, 50 or more pages could have been saved by eliminating
all of the unnecessary adjectives.
Anyone who loves a good mystery novel will devour this book. It is really fast moving and quickly draws the reader in to an engrossing mystery. The characters are well developed and totally credible. The dialogue is lively and entertaining especially when the hero casts a withering eye over the main suspects. The antiquing sleuth is erudite and edgy and though he doesn't suffer fools lightly one senses a deeply compassionate core that makes him likeable. The ending surprised me - I didn't figure it out which is, of course, the acid test for a good mystery. If you like a good classic mystery that ticks all the boxes, this will more than satisfy you.
